NC Radio: Unhappy With Content, WEEB Dropping Glenn Beck

Steve Adams, general manager of Talk WEEB 990 AM, announced Wednesday The Herman Cain Show, will be replacing The Glenn Beck Show, beginning Monday, April 18.

“We feel that Glenn’s show has evolved into a program that is no longer conducive with the WEEB schedule of programs,” Adams said. “We carry a wide variety of programs, including Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Mark Levin, Michael Savage, and Alan Colmes. Over the last year, we have received an overwhelming number of complaints concerning the content of The Glenn Beck Show.”

Adams said the station has talked to Beck’s vice president of programming about listener’s concerns.

“We told him that Glenn’s show seems to have evolved into a three-hour hate Trump format, and when he isn’t Trump bashing, and demeaning Trump supporters, he’s literally teaching a Bible study course on the air. I enjoy a good Bible study and there is a place for that,” Adams said. “That belongs on a Christian talk station, and not a news talk station.”

Adams pointed out that Rush Limbaugh is a Ted Cruz supporter, just like Beck is, but Limbaugh treats both candidates fairly on his program.

“I think Glenn needs to step back and actually listen to one of his programs. Sometimes it is pure hate being preached in his microphone. I do not have a problem with Glenn supporting Ted Cruz, but I do have a problem when he calls non-supporters ‘idiots,’ which he does quite often,” Adams said.

  3. Well, lately I've been running into some deliberately dense, hateful, and slanderous Trump supporters. I agree, though, that Beck goes too far, but Limbaugh has not.

  4. Beck is 999 watts short of a kilowatt. 5,279 feet short of a mile. Juvenile and bordering on psychotic, with his constant references to his ability to predict the future. I just hope he doesn't go postal some day.

  5. Quite frankly, if he wants to call people fools and idiots, he has his own t.v. station and he can do it there where people pay to watch him. He began to change about 6 months ago and whenever I tried to listen to him he was bashing Trump. How sad because he used to be extremely funny and educational. I will never listen to him again.

  6. I am so relieved @GlenBeck is off the air. My hubby & I were fans but once Trump became a candidate,Beck lost his compass & moral ethics. We were shocked at the things he said on his show ..never tuned in again. He is NO Christian! He preaches pure HATE! He is awful despicable & a fraud!😈

  8. Seems to me that he's just being consistent. Glenn bashes progressives. That's what he does. Been doing it for years.
Just like Rachel Dozal, Shaun King, Elizabeth Warren and other progressive leftists, Trump is choosing to identify as something which he is not. I do not subscribe to that BS, even when they choose to identify as a (R) and apparently Glenn doesn't either.
    I will continue to watch/listen.
