WWOne Offers Red Carpet Radio For ACC Awards

Cumulus and Westwood One announce they will provide Red Carpet Radio exclusive audio coverage from backstage at the ACC Awards on Friday, December 12 and Saturday, December 13, leading up to the inaugural broadcast of the American Country Countdown Awards.

The event is airing LIVE from Nashville’s Music City Center on Monday, December 15 (8:00-10:00 PM TE live/PT tape-delayed) on FOX.  The 2014 ACCAs, hosted by superstar duo Florida Georgia Line, will honor Country music’s biggest stars. Multiple category finalists include Jason Aldean, with four nods, and Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert, who are tied with three. Brett Eldredge, Brantley Gilbert, Lady Antebellum, Justin Moore, Thomas Rhett and Cole Swindell each were named finalists in two categories.

Country music’s Carrie Underwood, Eric Church, Florida Georgia Line, Jason Aldean, Kelly Clarkson, Kenny Chesney, Luke Bryan and Miranda Lambert, along with country’s newest star Brett Eldredge, will perform on the inaugural American Country Countdown Awards on December 15. Special presenters from the worlds of music, sports, and entertainment include American Country Countdown radio host and veteran Country star Kix Brooks, Sara Evans, Hunter Hayes, Scotty McCreery, Kip Moore, Cole Swindell, NASCAR’s Jimmie Johnson, LA Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw, actress Emily Kinney, and Miss America 2015, Kira Kazantsev.

During the live telecast, Country queen Reba McEntire will receive the first-ever NASH Icon Award, which celebrates an iconic artist whose extraordinary talent has influenced generations of musicians and has made a profound and lasting impact on country music.  NASH Icon is a Cumulus Country brand, introduced earlier this year, which now airs on more than 20 stations nationally and features the “music that made Country great.”

The Red Carpet Radio backstage event will feature two days of live broadcasts with 20 Country radio stations from across the country, with an array of hosts, presenters, and performers mingling backstage.  Cumulus/Westwood One national shows NASH Nights Live, America’s Morning Show, and American Country Countdown will broadcast live from backstage.

On Monday December 15, during the live awards show, a special five-hour NASH Nights Live radio broadcast will air from 7 pm to midnight, local times. Hosts Shawn Parr and Elaina Smith will be on-location and joined by America’s Morning Show hosts Blair Garner and Erika Grace Powell for red carpet reports, interviews, music, features and vignettes, and promotional contests.

Westwood One’s Red Carpet Radio brand, the umbrella platform for the company’s exclusive behind-the-scenes coverage of year-round entertainment award shows, rolled out last month with the American Music Awards.  The brand took off on social media during its debut weekend, garnering more than 91.8 million social media impressions through the hashtag #RedCarpetRadio.
