Boston Radio: New Round Of Departures At iHM

Josh Binswanger
Another round of lay-offs has hit iHeartMedia's cluster in Boston.

The highest profile lay-off is news anchor Josh Binswager at WBZ 1030 AM.

Kesha Monk
Robert Sanchez, WBZ NewsRadio vice president of news and talk, confirmed that the 56-year-old Binswanger was “no longer at WBZ.”

Sanchez declined to elaborate on Binswanger’s departure, citing company policy not to discuss personnel matters.

Sanchez said a number of fill-in afternoon anchors are lined up for the next couple of weeks, but a permanent replacement for Binswanger hasn’t been selected.

There are media reports that up to seven staffers were cut at iHM in Boston.  They include:

Garo Hagopian, Fausto Menard, Carolyn Firestone and reporter Bill Marcus.  Cuts also claimed several of WBZ’s part-time weekend talk hosts, including Dean Johnson and Marissa DeFranco and Urban WKAF morning co-host Kesha Monk.
