Cleveland Radio: WKNR Adding Emmett Golden To Midday Show

Emmett Golden
WKNR 850 ESPN Cleveland is shaking things up on “The Really Big Show” with the addition of Emmett Golden.

According to cleveland.com, the sports talker will join longtime hosts Tony Rizzo and Aaron Goldhammer on the fourth hour of the station’s popular morning show starting March 1.

The show’s noon-1 p.m. hour has been rechristened “RBS Next” to signify the addition of Golden, who will continue to host his afternoon show, “The Next Level.”

“I’m looking to bring energy and fun to ‘RBS Next,’” Golden, a native Clevelander, said in a statement. “I also want to give the fans a preview of what Je’rod (Cherry) and I will be talking about each afternoon on ‘The Next Level.’”

Golden’s added duties mean “The Next Level” will lose an hour and air from 3-5 p.m. weekdays. Matt Fontana becomes the beneficiary of that extra hour, as his show “ESPN Cleveland Tonight” expands with an earlier start time of 5 p.m.

“Fontana’s high energy, action-packed show builds on his experience as a baseball player and local college football player,” the station said in a release.

As part of the changes, Browns analyst Tony Grossi will now appear during the 10 a.m. hour of “The Really Big Show” and the 6 p.m. hour of “ESPN Cleveland Tonight.”

“Cleveland Browns Daily” with Beau Bishop and Nathan Zegura is staying put in its 1-3 p.m. timeslot.
