NYC Radio: WNYC Nominated for Two Webby Awards
WNYC’s app feature “Discover,” which offers users customizable, time-based playlists based on their interests, was nominated in the Mobile: Best Streaming Audio category and “Bodega Cats in their Own Words,” a whimsical look into the minds of cats from all five New York City boroughs, was nominated in the Experimental & Weird category. As nominees they have been chosen as one of the five best in the world in their category, and will compete for the coveted The Webby and the The Webby People’s Voice Award.
“WNYC has been recognized with Peabody Awards and other prestigious awards for the excellence of our audio content,” said Laura Walker, President and CEO, New York Public Radio, which includes WNYC. “ I am proud that the Webby nominations and Honoree titles recognize our talented team for their creativity in the digital space as well. Our compelling content and our innovative digital products are reaching and delighting audiences wherever they are.”
