MN Radio: Leighton to Acquire 10 Stations

Jerry and Pat Pappenfuss are getting out of the radio business.

The couple on Tuesday announced the sale of their 10 stations to St. Cloud-based Leighton Enterprises.

The purchase includes five KAGE stations and five Result Radio stations; the agreement was filed with the Federal Communications Commission on Tuesday.

“Pat and Jerry Papenfuss’ induction into the Minnesota Broadcasters Hall of Fame is a testament to their excellence and dedication to the communities their stations serve through their radio ownership,” said Bob Leighton, Leighton CEO.

Winona:
Top 40 KAGE 95.3 FM
Country 99.3 KWNO
AC KHME 101.1 FM
Talk  KWNO 1230 AM
Classic Country KAGE 1380 AM.

Fergus Falls/Perham:
Country KJJK 96.5 FM
AC KPRW 99.5 FM
Rock KZCR 103.3 FM
Sports KJJK 1020 AM
Talk KBRF 1250 AM.

Leighton Enterprises, which operates under the name Leighton Broadcasting, has presences in St. Cloud and Detroit Lakes in Minnesota, and Grand Forks in North Dakota.
