Diamond departed back the Classic Hits station in December to deal with diverticulitis, a painful condition affecting the colon. Due to severe pain he had long been experiencing, he decided to have surgery to help repair his issue.
He returned home to Washington, D.C. for the holidays to undergo a four and a half hour surgical procedure on January 20th.
