The Radio Industry is sending best wishes to Scott McKenzie, longtime morning host at CBS Radio's WOMX 105.1 FM Mix.
McKenzie has posted on the station's website that his prolonged battle with cancer has been renewed.
McKenzie writes that he had twice battled non-Hodgkin's lymphoma and had just received an "all clear" exam in February.
However, just before leaving on a birthday getaway with his wife, McKenzie had been feeling under the weather and went back to the doctor, only to find that not only the cancer had returned and "taken over any available space in my belly and was pressing to make more room."
According to McKenzie, "Because the disease was on the move, we had no choice but to trade the hotel stay for a hospital stay so I could get the needed round-the-clock chemo for 4 days. Instead of a three-day weekend, it’s been a three-week sick leave."
The good news is, McKenzie reports an intense four-day regimen of chemo has had a positive effect, and he also says his appetite is back and he's feeling better.
