As John Catsimatidis gears up for an expected run for Big Apple mayor he’s added more political names to his line-up at 77 WABC.
According to The NY Post, he has brought on former National Economic Council director Larry Kudlow, fresh from his stint in the Trump administration, to host a show on Saturdays. He also recently signed former GOP Rep. Peter King, of Long Island, as a guest co-host on the weekday “WABC Evening News.”
Since leaving his post as the top White House economist, Kudlow has also just launched a new TV show, “Kudlow,” airing weekdays on Fox Business. WABC says the radio program, which began last weekend, will “give his perspective on the state of the markets, the economy, and politics.”
King previously chaired the House Committee on Homeland Security.
“We are delighted to have two of the nation’s renowned figures on economics and homeland security — two issues near the hearts of New Yorkers — to provide breaking news updates to New York and the tri-state,” Catsimatidis told Page Six.
The station has also recently added comedian and former “SNL” star Joe Piscopo and ’70s pop star Tony Orlando (“Tie a Yellow Ribbon”) to its lineup, as well as fashion designer Joseph Abboud.
He bought the station in 2019 through his Red Apple Media. King and Kudlow have previously been regulars on 77 WABC over the years.
