Entercom raised over $200,000 to benefit Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters (CHKD) during WPTE 94.9 The Point’s FM 19th annual “CHKD Radiothon” in Norfolk, VA. Since its inception 19 years ago, 94.9 The Point Radiothon has raised more than $5 million to purchase equipment, fund research, support patient care programs, and expand the mental health program at the hospital.
“CHKD is a big part of the Entercom Norfolk family and has been for over a decade,” said Bennett Zier, Senior Vice President and Market Manager, Entercom Norfolk. “The children, their families and the health care workers are part of the daily fabric of our community efforts. Mike and Woo, with their passion and commitment, are a key ingredient to help connect our listeners during this heartfelt annual event.”
As part of the three-day virtual campaign, 94.9 The Point morning show hosts Mike Powers and Woo Woo broadcast live from 94.9 The Point studios on November 11-13 from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. ET, raising critical dollars for the region’s only children’s hospital. Programming featured CHKD patients and families, who shared stories of courage and hope.
