D/FW Radio: Kidd-Less Morning Show Remembers

KHKS 106.1 KissFM personality Kellie Rasberry said it at 7 a.m. Monday so no one else had to: “For the first time ever, we are ‘Kidd Kraddick in the Morning’ without Kidd Kraddick,” she said, sniffling, according to pegassusnews.com.

The radio show’s leader, David “Kidd” Kraddick, died unexpectedly Saturday in New Orleans during a golf tournament for his children’s nonprofit called Kidd’s Kids.

The show on Dallas’ Kiss FM (106.1 KHKS-FM) usually runs from 6-10 a.m., but Kraddick’s cast members Rasberry, Big Al Mack, J-Si, Jenna Owens, and "Psycho" Shannon went on air at 7 a.m. Monday for an abridged radio show to honor Kraddick. His show is broadcast in more than 100 cities nationwide and online at Dish Nation.

The early-morning broadcast was tearful as the deejays shared their stories about their boss, friend, and ringleader. Rasberry was Kraddick’s longtime sidekick, and though they were not married, they often said they bickered like a married couple. “I knew what it felt like to be divorced, and now I feel like I know what it’s like to be a widow,” Rasberry said Monday morning.
