CNN's Kaitlan Collins Pushes Back On MAGA Critics

Kaitlan Collins, CNN's chief White House correspondent, faced criticism from conservative circles after a recent incident involving President Donald Trump and an X post about Luigi Mangione, the suspected shooter of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson. This marks another instance where MAGA supporters have targeted Collins, but this time, she responded to the backlash.

Following Trump's mockery of Collins during a face-to-face encounter, conservatives criticized her for an X post linking to a website for Mangione's legal defense team. In the post, Collins stated, "Luigi Mangione's legal defense team has launched a new website today," and included a link to the site. Although the website provides updates on Mangione's legal proceedings, it also features a donation link for his defense fund.

After facing accusations of promoting Mangione's legal defense fund, Collins removed the post from X. Right-wing influencer Ian Miles Cheong commented that Collins "promoted a fundraising website for Luigi Mangione," questioning why a CNN journalist would promote a murderer. Conservative commentator Stephen L. Miller also weighed in, calling it "real bottom of the barrel stuff" even for Collins.

The New York Post ran a story titled "CNN's Kaitlan Collins deletes post about Luigi Mangione's defense fund after backlash," prompting the reporter to address the situation and clarify her actions.
