ABC's GMA Trio Resented Off Camera

Resentment towards "Good Morning America" hosts George Stephanopoulos, Robin Roberts, and Michael Strahan is reportedly at an all-time high within the network. Sources claim that the hosts' multi-million dollar salaries have made them "the most hated people in the building right now."

According to NewsNation, the discontent stems from several issues:

  • Recent layoffs have left producers doing the work of two people for a single paycheck.
  • Morale is low as the show trails behind NBC's "Today" in ratings.
  • The network agreed to pay $15 million towards Donald Trump's presidential library to settle a defamation lawsuit related to Stephanopoulos' inaccurate on-air statement about the president-elect.

Insiders argue that the settlement money could have been used to retain producers and assistant producers, who are being offered a mere 2% raise in upcoming contract negotiations. Meanwhile, the anchors' salaries remain exorbitant, with Roberts and Strahan working only four days a week and enjoying substantial vacation time.

Stephanopoulos is reportedly more focused on his and his wife Ali Wentworth's production units within ABC, which recently produced successful documentaries on Brooke Shields and Bruce Springsteen. An insider claims that while Stephanopoulos is passionate about these projects, he remains fully committed to "GMA."

Amidst this tension, there are rumors that ABC News may consolidate the GMA3 staff with "GMA," potentially leading to further significant layoffs.
