What Is Old, Is New Again as Entercom launches “Roq of the 80s” on KROQ 106.7 HD2.
The familiar voices of Freddie Snakeskin and Tami Heide will anchor Entercom's relaunch of the popular side channel. Snakeskin will be heard 6am-12pm, followed by Heide 12-6p. The relaunch includes the inaugural “Flashback 500” countdown, which will kick off Tuesday, Sept 4 at 8am (Pacific)
“Will wonders never cease?” Snakeskin posted on Facebook. “Yes, it's official, after a three-year vacation (at their request), I'm thrilled to be invited back to relaunch Entercom's KROQ-HD2 The Roq of the 80s beginning this weekend.”
“Listen every day for all the great Klassick KROQ music you grew up with via Radio.com,” Snakeskin’s post continued. “And/or free HD radio @ 106.7-HD2… Thanks for your unwavering support all these years; apparently someone was listening.”
Snakeskin was programming and heard on the channel until his exit in 2015. At the time he was also PD of adult hits sister KCBS.
