Personality Scotty K Selected to Compete on “American Ninja Warrior”
Cumulus Media has announced that multi-market radio personality Scotty K has been chosen to compete on Season 11 of NBC’s sports entertainment competition show, American Ninja Warrior.
American Ninja Warrior features hundreds of competitors attempting to complete a series of obstacle courses of increasing difficulty in various cities across the U.S., in hopes of advancing to the national finals in Las Vegas, NV, and becoming the season’s “American Ninja Warrior”.
Scotty K is morning host on Dallas/Fort Worth’s KLIF Hot 93.3 FM, midday personality on Kansas City’s 95.7 the Vibe, and weekend talent on Salt Lake City’s Power 94.1.
He submitted an audition tape for American Ninja Warrior in December 2018, and after 4 months of waiting, he finally got the call informing him he was selected to compete on Season 11 of American Ninja Warrior. Scotty will be participating in the competition in honor of his son, who loves the show, and will also raise awareness for the non-profit, Apple-A-Day Foundation. The Apple-A-Day Foundation provides technology for children with pediatric cancer to help them connect to the world and live a life of normalcy.
Scotty is no stranger to reality TV competitions, as he appeared on the first season of Fox’s So You Think You Can Dance. He will travel to Oklahoma City to compete in the American Ninja Warrior City Qualifiers on April 12-13. Until then, he will be training and releasing more episodes of his recently launched podcast, “Off The Course - An American Ninja Warrior Podcast. On the podcast he talks to current and former contestants of American Ninja Warrior about the obstacles they have overcome, both on and off the course.
Scotty K said: “I just hope I can be an example of what hard work can accomplish for my son, and show that there is no obstacle to tough in life if you don’t let fear get in the way. The difference between good and great will always be effort, and I’m all in.”
