Programmed by Matt McKay, the contemporary hits station KFRX 106.3 FM owned by Lincoln-based Three Eagles Communications, won its seventh
straight Arbitron survey.
KFRX drew a 12.2 average share among listeners 12 and older
(12-plus) during Arbitron’s spring survey, which ran from March 28 to June 19.
According to journalstar.com, finishing second overall was
NRG Media country station KFGE Froggy 98.1 FM with an 8.3 average share. Three
Eagles’ full-service station KFOR 1240 AM was third at 7.6.
Listeners 55 years and older helped KFOR finish No. 3,
because the station finished ninth among people 18 to 49 and 10th among people
25 to 54, the two advertiser-friendly demographics.
Conversely, KFRX scored well among 18-49 and 25-54 age
groups, finishing first in both.
Other Arbitron news of note:
- KFOR’s morning show of Cathy Blythe and Dave Hilligoss was No. 1, beating out second-place KFRX and third-place Froggy 98.
- Froggy 98 continues to dominate its battle with Three Eagles’ KX 96.9 (KZKX 96.9 FM) for country music listeners. Froggy finished second among people 25 to 54 and was 4.8 average share points better than sixth-place KX 96.9.
