A Judy Garland Remix Goes Top 10

Judy Garland
Iconic entertainer, singer Judy Garland has made a return to the top 10 of a Billboard songs chart for the first time in 74 years, as "The Man That Got Away," with remixer Eric Kupper, bounds 15-10 on Dance Club Songs.

The last time that Garland had ranked in a songs survey's top 10? Back in 1945, when "On the Atchison, Topeka and the Santa Fe" reached the region on a few of the publication's earliest rankings.

The new achievement follows this summer's premiere of the Garland biopic Judy, starring Renée Zellweger.

Kupper, meanwhile, reaches the Dance Club Songs top 10 in his first visit to the chart as a credited artist, after remixing and/or producing for Aretha Franklin, Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande, Whitney Houston, Janet Jackson, Jennifer Lopez, Katy Perry,  P!nk, Diana Ross and others.

"My father was a huge Judy Garland fan, and I grew up loving her voice," Kupper tells Billboard. "To be able to work on one of her recordings, especially this song, is such an honor. Also, the technical challenges involved with remixing this older recording were actually quite fun!"
