Fox News has named Emily Compagno a full-time co-host of its top-rated program “The Five,” effective Sept. 8.
Compagno, who has co-hosted the daytime show “Outnumbered” since 2021, will join regulars Greg Gutfeld, Dana Perino and Jesse Watters. Harold Ford Jr. and Jessica Tarlov will continue rotating in the program’s liberal seat. She will leave “Outnumbered,” where a rotating Fox News personality will fill her role until a permanent replacement is named.
Fox News Media CEO Suzanne Scott announced the move Monday, saying: “Fifteen years later, ‘The Five’ remains a powerhouse and appointment viewing for millions of Americans. Emily is a highly accomplished host whose energy and talent have made her a standout across Fox News Media, and we are thrilled to officially welcome her to the show.”
The appointment fills the permanent seat previously held by Jeanine Pirro, who left the show in May 2025 after her appointment as U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia.
Compagno has appeared as a rotating guest on “The Five” in the interim. “The Five,” which marked its 15th anniversary in July 2026, remains the highest-rated program in cable news. It averaged 3.6 million viewers and 322,000 in the key 25-54 demographic during the second quarter of 2026, marking its 19th consecutive quarter atop the rankings.
Compagno joined Fox News as a contributor in 2018. Before that, she practiced law in criminal defense and civil litigation and later served as a federal managing attorney and acting director at the Social Security Administration. She is also a bestselling author; her book “Under His Wings,” published by Fox News Books, debuted at No. 1 on Amazon and the New York Times bestseller list.
