WBAL NewsRadio in Baltimore said Thursday it is dropping two local weekday talk shows and filling midday hours with nationally syndicated programs from Premiere Networks.
Local midday host T.J. Smith is leaving the 10 a.m.–2 p.m. slot. Glenn Beck will air from 10 a.m. to noon, followed by The Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show from noon to 3 p.m.
Afternoon host Angelette Aviles, who joined the station a little more than a year ago, is also departing.
The station will air The Sports Lounge from 3 to 5 p.m., then WBAL News Now with longtime anchor Robert Lang from 5 to 7 p.m. WBAL has not named a Sports Lounge host or explained the exits.
The Hearst-owned news/talk station (1090 AM and 101.5 FM) still plans local programming in morning drive with C4 (Clarence Mitchell IV) and Bryan Nehman, plus evening news with Lang. Mark Levin and Lars Larson remain in nights.
The station also carries Orioles and Ravens games. Some Baltimore reports said the radio newsroom had been “gutted”,

The shift gives Premiere five consecutive midday hours and cuts the amount of locally produced talk between morning drive and evening news. WBAL posted the new schedule on its website and social accounts Thursday.
Before this week’s talk-show overhaul, WBAL NewsRadio’s other notable 2026 programming changes were mostly in sports. In January, the Orioles added veteran play-by-play announcer Josh Lewin to the WBAL-flagship radio team for the 2026 season. Lewin had filled in on Orioles radio in 1995–96 and hosted WBAL’s “Sports Line” in 1994. Brett Hollander and Ben Wagner remained on the radio crew.
In April, longtime Ravens radio voice Gerry Sandusky retired after 20 seasons (2006–25). In June, the team named Kyle Youmans the new “Voice of the Ravens.” Youmans calls games with Rod Woodson on WBAL and sister station 98 Rock, handles preseason TV on WBAL-TV, and contributes year-round to Hearst Baltimore radio and TV programming. He is only the third Ravens radio play-by-play voice, after Scott Garceau and Sandusky. The station also listed Keith Mills, Kirk McEwen and Valerie Preactor on the 2026 Ravens pregame team.
