Leading podcast technology company Panoply Media announced Tuesday that it will rename the company Megaphone to correspond with its flagship hosting and ad-insertion service.
The new name reflects the company’s singular focus on podcast technology and its success as the leading provider of audience targeting for advertisers and enterprise-level hosting technology for publishers. Accompanying the new company name is a revamped website that supports the company’s evolution and focus.
“We’ve gained tremendous momentum in the last year, and have helped to bring many new podcast publishers and major brand advertisers into the medium for the first time,” said Brendan Monaghan, CEO of Megaphone. “To build on this success, we’ve chosen to rebrand the entire company with a name our clients already know and trust, providing clarity and simplicity to our business.”
Within the industry, Megaphone has quickly become the preferred platform of enterprise-level podcasters and media companies. In the last three months, the company has welcomed iHeartMedia, Vox Media, Himalaya, and Cadence13, among many others, onto its platform.
In the coming months, Megaphone says it will focus on building tools and services that anticipate where the industry is heading and ensure our clients remain on the leading edge. In addition to providing even more robust targeting and measurement capabilities, the Megaphone Creative Solutions team is helping brand advertisers produce and test ads that appeal to demanding podcast listeners. Megaphone will also be unveiling tools to help podcasters grow their audiences – the number one request from content creators.
“We’re proud to embrace the name Megaphone, a tool that amplifies the voice and message of anyone who uses it,” continued Monaghan. “It’s an exciting time to be in podcasting, and we look forward to this new chapter of breakthrough innovation that will help our publishing and advertising partners amplify what they have to say.”
