Detroit Radio: Beasley Names Matt Scarano VP/MM


Beasley Media Group has announced that Matt Scarano has been named Vice President and Market Manager of Beasley Media Group Detroit.

Scarano will be responsible for leading Beasley Media Group Detroit’s station brands, including WRIF, WCSX, WDMK-FM, and WMGC-FM, while driving operational excellence, revenue growth, and continued success across the market.

The media executive has more than two decades of experience leading large-scale radio and media operations, driving sustained revenue growth, and building high-performing teams in competitive markets. He is widely respected for his strategic leadership, operational discipline, and commitment to community engagement and corporate integrity.

Most recently, Scarano served as Region President for iHeartMedia in Chicago, where he oversaw all aspects of regional operations, including programming, sales, marketing, and engineering. In this role, he managed multimillion-dollar budgets, implemented innovative sales strategies, and partnered closely with station leadership and account executives to increase audience engagement and exceed revenue goals. He also played a key role in negotiating high-impact contracts with advertisers, vendors, and talent while ensuring full compliance with FCC regulations.

Previously, Scarano held senior leadership roles with Clear Channel Media + Entertainment, serving as Market President and earlier as Director of Sales in both Atlanta and Chicago. During this time, he led multiple stations, increased market share, expanded local and national advertising initiatives, and strengthened relationships with advertisers, community leaders, and business partners.

Earlier in his career, Scarano held a variety of senior sales and operational leadership positions, including General Sales Manager and Station Manager with ABC Radio/The Walt Disney Company, as well as leadership roles with Big League Broadcasting, Cox Broadcasting, Jacor Broadcasting, and WZGC-FM in Atlanta. Across these roles, he consistently delivered revenue growth, developed customized advertising solutions, and built long-term client partnerships.

Patti Taylor, who has been serving as Vice President and Market Manager, will transition into the role of Vice President of Sales for the Detroit-based radio cluster, where she will focus on driving revenue growth and strengthening client partnerships.
