Fox Entertainment has acquired New York-based rom-com podcast studio Meet Cute marking a major step in its audio and cross-platform content expansion.
The deal positions Meet Cute as a rapid-development content incubator under Fox Entertainment Studios, using audio to test IP for potential TV series, films, or TikTok micro-dramas—shortening Hollywood’s 3–5 year cycle to months.
Meet Cute, founded in 2019 by ex-Goldman Sachs trader Naomi Shah, produces 15-minute romantic-comedy episodes twice weekly. It boasts 51+ serialized shows, 200+ hours of content, 2.5 million global listeners, and stars like Charithra Chandran (Bridgerton) and Arden Cho.
Shah now serves as SVP of Operations & Strategy at Fox, focusing on AI scripting, audience analytics, and multi-platform adaptations. Meet Cute will continue releasing free episodes on Spotify and Apple while launching unscripted audio in 2026.
This is Fox’s latest 2025 audio move: acquiring Red Seat Ventures (Megyn Kelly, Tucker Carlson), adding Nancy Grace’s Crime Stories, partnering with Audiochuck, investing in Holywater, and signing with HarperCollins.
Listeners face no disruption—new rom-coms drop as usual—but hits like “Operation: Take the Leap” could soon become Tubi series or Fox holiday movies.
