TV Ratings: FOX News, NFL Football Dominate


FOX News Channel (FNC) dominated cable with viewers across primetime and total day during the week of October 27, according to Nielsen Big Data + Panel.

In Monday - Sunday primetime FNC nabbed 2.1 million viewers and 193,000 in the 25-54 demo. Across total day (6 AM-6 AM/ET), FNC posted 1.5 million viewers and 137,000 in the 25-54 demo. Comparatively, ESPN lagged behind with 1.3 million primetime viewers and 543,000 total day viewers. 

FOX commanded 64% of the primetime and 62% of total day cable news audience. FNC posted 98 of the top 100 cable news telecasts last week.


The Five averaged 3.6 million viewers and 292,000 in the 25-54 demo, leading cable news across the board. At 6 PM/ET, Special Report with Bret Baier drew 2.8 million viewers and 248,000 in the 25-54 demo. The Ingraham Angle saw 2.6 million viewers and 237,000 in the 25-54 demo at 7 PM/ET. Jesse Watters Primetime commanded 2.9 million viewers and 269,000 in the 25-54 demo at 8 PM/ET. At 9 PM/ET, Hannity posted 2.2 million viewers and 196,000 with A25-54. At 11 PM/ET, FOX News @ Night secured 1.6 million viewers and 191,000 in the 25-54 demo.

FNC’s late-night hit Gutfeld! (weekdays, 10 PM/ET) averaged 2.5 million viewers and 268,000 in the 25-54 demo continuing to outpace the broadcast competition including CBS’ The Late Show with Stephen Colbert (2 million viewers) and ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! (1.7 million viewers) and NBC’s The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon (1.1 million viewers).


FNC continued to see its daytime programs outpace the broadcast competition. The Will Cain Show (weekdays, 4 PM/ET; 2,113,000 viewers), The Faulkner Focus (weekdays, 11 AM/ET; 1,924,000 viewers), America’s Newsroom (weekdays, 9-11 AM/ET; 1,906,000 viewers), Outnumbered (weekdays, 12 PM/ET; 1,839,000 viewers), The Story (weekdays, 3 PM/ET; 1,812,000 viewers) and America Reports (weekdays, 1-3 PM/ET; 1,748,000 viewers) all led NBC’s Today with Jenna and Friends (1.4 million viewers) and ABC’s GMA3 (1.3 million viewers).

On Saturday:
Kayleigh McEnany’s Saturday in America (Saturday, 10 AM - 12 PM/ET) was the most-watched cable news show of the day with 1.3 million viewers. The Big Weekend Show (weekends, 5-8 PM/ET followed with 1.2 million viewers. In primetime, My View with Lara Trump (Saturday, 9 PM/ET) was most watched with over 1.1 million viewers.

On Sunday:  Maria Bartiromo’s Sunday Morning Futures (Sunday, 10 AM/ET) was the number one cable news show of the weekend with 1.8 million viewers. The Sunday Briefing (Sunday, 11 AM/ET) hosted by Peter Doocy followed with 1.4 million viewers. In primetime, Sunday Night in America with Trey Gowdy (Sunday, 9 PM/ET) drew 1.2 million viewers.

“World News Tonight with David Muir” ranked as the No. 1 evening newscast in all of broadcast and cable in Total Viewers (7.755 million), Adults 25-54 (949,000) and Adults 18-49 (679,000) during the week of Oct. 27, 2025, based on Live+Same Day Big Data Plus Panel Program Ratings from Nielsen Media Research.

  • “World News Tonight” outdelivered “NBC Nightly News” (6.155 million, 848,000 and 559,000, respectively) by 1.600 million Total Viewers, by 101,000 Adults 25-54 and by 123,000 Adults 18-49.
  • “World News Tonight” improved on the previous week’s Adults 25-54 (+3%/+24,000 – 949,000 vs. 925,000) and Adults 18-49 (+6%/+41,000 – 679,000 vs. 638,000), hitting season highs in both measures. In fact, “World News Tonight” posted its strongest Adults 18-49 performance in 13 weeks — since w/o 7/28/25.
  • “World News Tonight” was up on the same week last year in Total Viewers (+2%/+154,000 – 7.755 million vs. 7.601 million) and Adults 18-49 (+6%/+36,000 – 679,000 vs. 643,000).
  • “World News Tonight” (7.755 million, 949,000 and 479,000, respectively) defeated “CBS Evening News” (4.070 million, 491,000 and 363,000, respectively) in Total Viewers (+91%/+3.685 million), Adults 25-54 (+93%/+458,000) and Adults 18-49 (+87%/+316,000).

NBC Nightly News:
  • Averages 6.155 million total viewers, topping CBS by +2.085 million (+51%)Hits a 30-week high in total viewers, best since 3/31/25
  • Only newscast to grow in total viewers vs. last week, +312,000
  • Leads competition in total viewer growth vs. last year, +329,000
  • Nightly News closes viewership gap vs. ABC by 21% vs. last week, 10% vs. last year



📺BROADCAST MORNING NEWS:


“Good Morning America” averages 2.771 million Total Viewers, 475,000 Adults 25-54 and 315,0000 Adults 18-49 for the week of Oct. 27, 2025, based on Live+Same Day Big Data Plus Panel Program Ratings from Nielsen Media Research.
  • “GMA” was up week to week in Total Viewers (+2% – 2.771 million vs. 2.708 million).
  • “GMA” narrowed its margins on the same week last year with “Today” by double digits from both Adults 25-54 (-28% – 137,000 vs. 189,000) and Adults 18-49 (-40% – 76,000 vs. 126,000).
  • “GMA” (2.771 million, 475,000 and 315,000, respectively) beat “CBS Mornings” (1.895 million, 291,000 and 174,000, respectively) in Total Viewers (+876,000), Adults 25-54 (+184,000) and Adults 18-49 (+141,000). “GMA” led “CBS Mornings” in Total Viewers and Adults 25-54 for the last 1,398 weeks overall — since w/o 1/18/99.
NBC Today

NBC News’ TODAY was the number-one morning show outright last week, topping ABC’s “Good Morning America” in total viewers and the key demos. TODAY’s victory marks its first total viewer win in four weeks and its fourth in the last seven weeks. The show also celebrated a milestone 100th consecutive week as the #1 morning show among A25-54 viewers.

Friday’s Halloween broadcast delivered TODAY’s biggest single-day audience (3.035 million) since Craig Melvin’s first day as co-anchor on January 13, 2025 (3.227 million). TODAY ranked #1 across the board on Halloween, posting its largest total viewer advantage over CBS in four years and biggest demo win in three years.
