The surprise in the Holiday Book released Tuesday by Nielsen
was not that WLTW 106.7 FM ended up in the #1 spot (6+ AQH). The surprise would be Lite 106-7 FM bested
its #1 performance from 2013. The
station registered a 13.5 this year vs. 11.9 last year. WLTW also saw it's Cume surge to 7.1M+.
Likewise, the good news for #2 WCBS 101.1 FM was that it too had a "win" besting its performance versus a year ago 6.2 vs. 4.8. The CBS Radio Classic Hits station had been
on a roll of late, but was down 6.9—6.2 for the holiday period.
Emmis’ UrbanAC WBLS 107.5 FM comes in at #3 5.3—5.8...SBS
Tropical WSKQ 97.9 FM La Mega moved 5.4—5.6 to end up at #4 and the #5 spot
belongs to WHTZ 100.3 FM which dropped 5.6—5.0, despite the hype surrounding
Jingle Ball ’14.
The really big news, of course, is the Holiday book has been over for a few weeks and the numbers are probably showing a usual performance patterns re-emerging.
