AK Radio: KXLW Repositions As 'Today's Hot Country'

Ohana Media Group's KXLW 96.3 FM / The Wolf in Anchorage, AK has repositioned itself as "Today's Hot Country." They were previously playing a gold-based, 90's musical format, according to All About Country.

"This is the next logical step for "The Wolf," said Ohana VP/Programming Tom Oakes.  "The station is now perfectly positioned to compete for the 18-49 year old adults with a full slate of today's new Country music.  The new approach brings an increased level for commitment to today's Country music, further community involvement and a new focus on excitement in our presentation.

According to Oakes, The Wolf is running no more than eight minutes of commercial content each hour.

The station is running jockless with station staff ready for a February return.  That will coincide with the debut of the new morning show that is currently being developed.
