Atlanta Radio: Drew Anderssen To Succeed Pete Spriggs At WSB


Cox Media Group has announced the retirement of longtime Director of Branding and Programming, Pete Spriggs. Senior Manager of Programming and Operations, Drew Anderssen, has been appointed to step into Spriggs’ role following his retirement, effective February 28, 2020.

Spriggs has enjoyed a long tenure in radio and his a highly respected figure in the industry. He joined Cox in Dayton, OH in 1993 with News/Talk radio station WHIO and after three years at WDBO Radio in Orlando he moved to Atlanta, where he has worked at WSB radio since 2000. At WSB, he served as Director of Branding and Programming, as well as Format Leader for all of CMG’s News and Talk radio brands in the market.

“WSB will go down in history as one of the greatest radio stations in the world, and I’m humbled to have been the Program Director there for 19 years,” Spriggs said. I’ve worked with some of the finest talent in this business. Several of them are in either the Georgia Radio Hall of Fame or the National Radio Hall of Fame and we’ve all worked together to make life better for our listeners in Atlanta and Georgia. It has been an awe-inspiring experience for me, and I’m so grateful to CMG for trusting me with the ‘keys’ to such a great ‘kingdom.’”

Prior to joining WSB, Anderssen spent years in programming and research for Cox Media Group in Orlando, Florida and Tulsa, Oklahoma. Anderssen brings an immense amount of experience and devotion to his role and CMG looks forward to continuing their partnership to ensure WSB remains an industry leader.
