The Falcon 9’s first-stage booster, on its eighth flight, landed on the drone ship “A Shortfall of Gravitas” 8.5 minutes later. The 4,100-pound satellite reached geosynchronous transfer orbit 33 minutes after launch.

This was SpaceX’s 48th orbital launch from Cape Canaveral or Kennedy Space Center in 2025, and its 69th Falcon 9 mission overall, including 51 Starlink launches, per Space.com. A lightning warning had been issued for the area on Friday, according to Florida Today.
Maxar Space Systems built SXM-10, which arrived at Cape Canaveral on May 15, and the recently launched SXM-9. These satellites deliver radio and internet programming to SiriusXM subscribers in the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico. SiriusXM now has seven operational satellites, with two more planned.
Maxar celebrated the launch on X, noting its 20-year partnership with SiriusXM. Bridget Neville, SiriusXM’s senior vice president, stated in December that these satellites will bolster their fleet for decades, supporting ongoing innovation in audio entertainment and information services.
