The Academy of Country Music (ACM) conducted layoffs last week affecting approximately 25% of its staff, eliminating five positions across various departments, including communications, marketing, events, and community relations.
The affected employees included Alexis Bingham (Coordinator, Events), Lexi Cothran (Senior Manager, Communications and Strategic Initiatives), Jesse Knutson (Director, Publicity and Media Relations), and Brittany Uhniat (Manager, Creative and Content Production).
The ACM described the layoffs as a "strategic staff realignment" to support future business and growth initiatives following a successful 60th ACM Awards on May 8, 2025, and a renewed partnership with Prime Video through 2028. The organization expressed gratitude for the contributions of the affected staff.
This restructuring came less than a month after the milestone awards show, hosted by Reba McEntire in Frisco, Texas, which celebrated artists like Lainey Wilson, Ella Langley, and Alan Jackson.
