Trump Slams Emmy Nomination for Kamala Harris’ 60 Minutes Interview, Cites Media Corruption
President Donald Trump seized on an Emmy nomination for Kamala Harris’ controversial 60 Minutes interview to argue it exemplifies why Americans distrust mainstream media. In a detailed post on Truth Social Wednesday morning, Trump claimed the nomination for the CBS interview reflects the need to hold media accountable for “corruption and lies.”
Trump alleged the 60 Minutes interview, aired before Election Day during early voting, was “unlawfully fixed, manipulated, and doctored” by CBS to make Harris appear “somewhat coherent.”
He claimed the full transcript, which he said 60 Minutes, CBS, and Paramount withheld until after his inauguration and released only under FCC orders, exposed the interview as “fake, corrupt, anti-Trump propaganda.”
Turning to the Emmy nomination, Trump called it a “slap in the face” to those valuing “truth and honest journalism,” questioning whether 60 Minutes and its corporate owners sought the nomination for an “illegally falsified interview” or if other “fake outlets” nominated them. He argued such “antics” fuel public distrust in the press, vowing to hold 60 Minutes, CBS, and its owners accountable in court.
Trump filed a $10 billion lawsuit against CBS in October, alleging deceptive editing of the Harris interview to favor Democrats in the November election. An amended complaint in February raised damages to $20 billion. The New York Times reported mediation began last week.
