60 Minutes Airs Scathing Report Critical Of Trump

Sunday’s 60 Minutes aired a sharp critique of Donald Trump, focusing on his executive orders targeting critical law firms, despite Paramount’s efforts to settle his $20 billion lawsuit against the network.

In the final 14 minutes, Scott Pelley, who previously clashed with his corporate bosses, interviewed lawyers warning that law firms’ failure to resist such power could lead to a “dictatorship.” Pelley provocatively labeled Trump the “first felon in the Oval Office.”

Meanwhile, Trump claims 60 Minutes deceptively edited an October interview with Vice President Kamala Harris to boost her image, prompting a Federal Communications Commission probe into potential “news distortion” violations. CBS and Paramount Global also face challenges with their $8.4 billion Skydance Media merger, which requires FCC approval.

Paramount executives, led by owner Shari Redstone, have sought to settle with Trump’s legal team, with Redstone reportedly urging CBS News’ chief to delay sensitive Trump stories during merger talks. However, Sunday’s 60 Minutes segment suggests the show’s staff is undeterred.

Bill O'Reilly took to X to criticize the 60 Minutes piece.  He posted "Just watched another anti-Trump hit piece on 60 Minutes. Without debating the merits of President Trump using his power to punish law firms he doesn't like, I will report that CBS correspondent Scott Pelley glorified a lawyer named Marc Elias who worked for the Clinton campaign in 2016 and was up to his eyeballs in the phony Russian collusion story.

O'Reilly added, "Somehow, Scott failed to mention that.  He also did not feature one pro-Trump lawyer but used three attorneys critical of the President. This is wrong and 60 Minutes has to know it.  Again, I am not litigating this.  Trump may be wrong.  But CBS News once again did not present the full story in their jihad against Donald Trump.  Shame on them."
