Milwaukee Radio: Sports Talker Steve Czaban Remains On WRNW

Steve Czaban
Milwaukee sports-talk radio personality Steve “Czabe” Czaban announced via Twitter last week the end of his daily sports-talk show on WTEM Washington, D.C., but says the shift won’t impact his gig on WRNW 97.3 FM “The Game” in Milwaukee.

“Nothing changes with 'The Game,'” Czaban said in an email to the Milwaukee Business Journal. “Only I will be up there more often.”

Czaban primarily performs his Milwaukee morning drive-time show on iHM's WRNW-FM remotely from the Washington, D.C., area where he lives. He’s been hosting the Milwaukee show since May 2019 on the iHeartMedia station.

Prior to joining "The Game" in Milwaukee, Czaban for 20 years was a regular contributor to the Bob and Brian morning show on Saga Communications Inc.’s “The Hog” (102.9 FM) in Milwaukee.

He announced via Twitter that starting Jan. 2 he was departing “The Team” and switching to a 9 a.m. to noon shift Saturdays at another D.C. sports station, 106.7 “The Fan” (WJFK-FM). The change followed an announcement that “The Team” was being sold to “The Fan” owner Entercom, which also owns radio stations in Milwaukee.

Czaban said his new role in D.C. resulted from “a mutual decision” between he and Entercom executives.

“As my contract was coming to an end, I had been contemplating a change of pace and direction for some time now,” Czaban said. “This is the right move for me at the right time. I am very excited and thankful for this opportunity, and any others that may present themselves in the future.”
