Buffalo WKBW 7 News Anchor Keith Radford To Retire

During WKBW TV7 ABC's coverage of the virtual ball drop in Downtown Buffalo on Thursday night, 7 Eyewitness News anchor Keith Radford announced the Countdown to 2021 would be his last on the air in Buffalo.

Radford will retire in June 2021, following a 33-year career with WKBW. He is one of the longest-running anchors in Buffalo, and was inducted into the Buffalo Broadcasters Hall of Fame in 2015.

His June retirement date will mark a milestone in his career-- 50 years to the week that he first started as a studio camera operator at Channel 9 in the Windsor, Ontario/Detroit, Michigan market.

Radford's career also included stops in Toronto, Ottawa, Barrie, and Salt Lake City before coming to Buffalo in 1987. Two years after arriving in Buffalo, the Windsor, Ontario native became a U.S. citizen.

During his years at WKBW, Radford has covered many of Western New York's most important stories, including the Gulf War, the arrest and trial of O.J. Simpson, the Bills' four consecutive Super Bowl appearances, the region's response to the September 11, 2001 terror attacks, the crash of Flight 3407, and now, the COVID-19 pandemic. He has traveled across the country and overseas to tell the stories of Western New Yorkers.

Radford will continue anchoring 7 Eyewitness News through June.
