Cleveland Radio: WMMS’ Rover Indicted On 13 Charges

Rover (July2013)
WMMS 100.7 FM Morning radio personality Shane French, aka Rover, has been indicted on 13 charges for an incident that happened over the July 4th holiday weekend on Cleveland's Whiskey Island. (See original posting, Click Here)

According to  ActionNews19, French has been indicted for inducing panic, assault, resisting arrest, vandalism, criminal damaging, a fireworks charge and more.

Cleveland police say Rover and Toomey, a sidekick from Rover's Morning Glory, were "highly intoxicated." At that time, the men started shooting fireworks at the officer, "nearly hitting him."

The police report goes on to say that Rover got rowdy, grabbed the officer's shirt, pushed him with both hands in his back and said, " I don't believe you're a police officer," even after the officer flashed his badge.

Rover was then told he was under arrest, but ran away with his partner in crime.

Rover talks about being brutally assaulted by off-duty police officer Steven Kinas, and how his promise that he would file a complaint about it prompted the current charges against him as retaliation.

He is due to appear in court on October 16.
