Richmond Radio: Jeff Katz Extends At Audacy's WRVA

Jeff Katz has renewed his contract with Audacy’s WRVA in Richmond and will remain the station’s afternoon-drive host, entering his 14th year in the slot and his 35th year in talk radio.

Katz is a longtime fixture on the heritage news/talk station and a regular presence on Newsmax TV. He has been named a Talkers Magazine Top 100 talk host for decades, won Talkers’ 2022 Humanitarian of the Year award, and readers of the Richmond Times-Dispatch have repeatedly voted his show the market’s favorite afternoon program.

Off the air, Katz has helped raise more than $1 million for Central Virginia charities and is an advocate for special-needs children and law enforcement. 

Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin appointed him to the Virginia Board for People with Disabilities. Local businesses have named food items after him, including the JK Hot Dog, JK Sandwich, JK Blend of Olive Oil, Jeff Katz Milkshake and Jeffeweizen summer beer.

Katz previously hosted in Boston, Philadelphia, San Francisco and Las Vegas before settling in Richmond, where he has said the community’s welcome for his family made the market a lasting home.
