President Donald Trump said Sunday he is reporting NBC News’s Kristen Welker to the FCC for “rebuke and punishment” after she described his record of endorsing Republican primary candidates as having “mixed results.”
Trump made the announcement on Truth Social minutes after Welker’s comment on Meet the Press.
He said his 2026 endorsement success rate is in the high 90s and called her characterization a “purposeful inaccuracy.”
“Kristen Welker, the Unpopular ‘Hostess’ of the once great Meet the Press, now considered Meet the Fake Press, just stated that Donald Trump has ‘mixed results’ on his Endorsements of Candidates, when the recent WINS of Darline Graham and Mike Mazzei, stand at 100% for the U.S. Senate, and 98% for the U.S. House, recently and over the longterm,” Trump wrote.
“How can anyone be allowed to say this, working for freely given Public Airwaves?”
“Unfortunately, she is not the only one. The Radical Left News is going out of their way to harass, demean, and libel anything ‘TRUMP.’ Their new weapon is to say that my 99% SUCCESS Rate on Endorsements, 100% on Senatorial Endorsements … is either a mixed result, or not very good.”
Trump cited the primary victories of Sen. Darline Graham of South Carolina and former Oklahoma state Sen. Mike Mazzei after his endorsements. He asked FCC Chairman Brendan Carr to treat the matter as a “Threat to our Country.”
Trump’s figures largely match the 2026 cycle record, aside from a few losses, including MyPillow founder Mike Lindell in Minnesota and Rep. Andy Ogles in Tennessee.
