Appleton Radio: New KISS-FM Morning Show Host Succeeds Otis Day

95.9 KISS FM has named Eddie Yberra a permanent co-host of its weekday morning show, locking in the lineup that has been on the air since April with Katie Schurk and Nick Vitrano. 

Yberra, already the station’s assistant brand manager, had been filling the chair on an interim basis after Otis Day left the program. Brand manager Joe Marroe said the three hosts clicked right away.

“Eddie, Katie and Nick had an instant natural chemistry,” Marroe said. “As assistant brand manager, Eddie already knows the heartbeat of this station and our listeners. Making his morning role permanent was the absolute right move for the brand and our audience at this time.”

Yberra will keep both jobs: mornings on the air and his behind-the-scenes role helping run the station. “I’m thrilled to officially lock in this role and keep building something special in the mornings, while continuing to help lead 95.9 KISS FM behind the mic,” he said. “I’ve had an absolute blast working alongside Katie and Nick every morning since April. The connection we’ve built with each other and with the KISS FM listeners has been incredible.”

Yberra stepped into the show after Day’s departure. Day left following a restraining order sought by a host at a competing Northeast Wisconsin station. KISS FM had said at the time that it was searching for a permanent third host while Yberra sat in. Four months of live shows later, station management decided the search was over. 

The morning program airs weekdays and is a centerpiece of the Woodward Community Media station, which also broadcasts as 92.9 KISS FM for listeners closer to Oshkosh. Schurk and Vitrano joined the KISS FM morning franchise after years as a team elsewhere in the market; Yberra has been part of the station’s on-air and programming staff since 2022, including middays and music-director duties before moving into mornings. 

Station officials framed the promotion as both a programming call and a continuity play: a familiar voice who already helps set the station’s direction, now officially in the 5 a.m. chair with two established co-hosts.
