Industry Vet Mike Agovino Joins Courtside Entertainment

Mike Agovino
Courtside Entertainment, parent company of PodcastOne, announces the addition of Triton Digital co-founder Mike Agovino in the newly-created positon of Executive Vice Chairman.

Agovino will work with Chairman/CEO Norm Pattiz, President Kit Gray and COO Greg Batusic across all divisions of PodcastOne and Courtside Entertainment, contributing his experience in new media technology, audience analysis and development, and revenue growth for the continued expansion of the podcast network.

"I have long-admired Norm’s leadership style and success in all endeavors, but we’ve never had the chance to work together," said Agovino. "The timing is finally right, and this is the perfect opportunity to expand upon everything I’ve learned over the last decade. Norm has spearheaded the reinvention of audio technology and entertainment, and I am excited to join forces with someone for whom I have so much respect, and with a company so well positioned to lead in the on-demand audio space."

Pattiz echoed these sentiments, "Mike has been a pioneer in the audio industry and brings a unique global perspective of the digital audio business to PodcastOne. He shares our vision that on-demand premium content is a key driver in the future of audio, and I look forward to working with him as we continue to build audience and revenue, while creating new opportunities across this powerful and growing platform."

Agovino co-founded Triton Digital in 2006 and has been Triton’s COO ever since. He exited the company this week following Triton's acquisition by Vector Capital. This followed more than 25 years of executive experience focused on the monetization of audio advertising. Mike began his career at Katz Media where he spent 18 years rising to become President of Katz Radio before launching Katz Interactive and later Clear Channel Radio Sales as President/COO. He departed Katz to become Co-COO of Interep Radio Sales leaving several years later to start Triton.
