'The Simpsons' Toast David Letterman

David Letterman received his first major retirement gift.

According to The NY Daily News, "The Simpsons" dedicated its opening couch gag segment Sunday night to the late night television icon, who announced his retirement to a stunned studio audience last week.

The one-minute tribute kicks off with the first family of Springfield racing through the streets of New York to get to Letterman's studio at the Ed Sullivan Theater in time for a taping — with Homer pausing long enough to lose some money in three-card Monte.
