94.7 FM Calls Letters To Be Changed

Cumulus Media is launching a new entertainment brand, NASH, based on the country music lifestyle, bringing country music to the New York City airwaves for the first time in 17 years, according to a story at bizjournals.com.

The NASH platform will feature radio stations, a monthly magazine, website, social media, concerts and television programming.

Implementation of the Nash brand will be company wide with conversions of existing Cumulus Country stations getting underway this week.  Some 83 stations will be impacted.

The flagship NASH radio station in New York City, 97.4 FM, went live Monday. Cumulus also announced it will switch the call letters for NASH FM 94.7 from WRXP to WNSH.

"Country is more than just music — it's a lifestyle that is rich with content and marketing opportunities," Cumulus CEO Lew Dickey said in a statement. "Cumulus is committed to serving this significant lifestyle segment that stretches from coast-to-coast by creating a full complement of content on the radio, in print, online and on TV."

NASH Magazine, published by Modern Luxury, is scheduled to debut in the second half of 2013 and will also include social media content and exclusive concert events.

NASH radio programming will include live shows and will be available to stations throughout the day through Cumulus Media Networks.
