Reports: Audacy RIFs Occurring Nationwide

Devon Kaney
Devan Kaney has been let go from 94.1 WIP as a sideline reporter as part of a new round of layoffs by parent company Audacy that affected multiple markets, company stations and personnel, sources said.

Kaney, who joined WIP in 2022 and regularly co-hosted the morning show with Joe DeCamara and Jon Ritchie, also served late in the 2024 season as the Eagles’ radio sideline reporter after Howard Eskin’s exit. “I had a blast working at WIP and sincerely enjoyed my time there,” she said. “But as the old saying goes, when one door closes, another opens.”

Kaney said she plans to remain in the Philadelphia market and will continue as a weekend anchor at Fox 29; she may still return for Eagles broadcasts, which were handled separately from her WIP role.

Sources say multiple layoffs hit Audacy’s seven Philadelphia stations — WIP, KYW Newsradio, 1210 WPHT, WOGL 98.1, B101, BIG 98.1 and 96.5 WTDY. The cuts follow the announced retirement of David Yadgaroff, Audacy’s Philadelphia market manager and senior vice president, whose last day is set for the end of May. Audacy did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Audacy also pared staff in other markets: Seattle assistant program director Doug Duin was included in the cuts, and Cleveland traffic reporter Joe Czekaj said his position was “eliminated.”  Tucker “Frito” Young and Katy Dempsey have left morning drive at Country 100.3 The Bull (KILT-FM) after 15 months, the station confirmed. The duo joined KILT-FM in January 2025 after three years hosting mornings at Cox Country Y100 (KCYY) in San Antonio and a long tenure at Bryan Broadcasting in College Station, Texas. Vicki Pepper, 13-year veteran of Country KFRG (K-Frog 95.1), where she was a Traffic Reporter, Public Affairs Director and doing Weekends/Fill-in.

The scope and total number of layoffs were not released publicly.
