Lincoln Radio: Connoisseur Media To Acquire NRG Cluster

Connoisseur Media has agreed to acquire a cluster of radio stations in Lincoln, Nebraska, from NRG Media, expanding the company’s Midwest footprint. The transaction, which includes five stations and translators, is subject to Federal Communications Commission approval and is expected to close this summer.

The deal covers KBBK-FM (B107.3), KLIN-AM and its FM translator K257GN (News Talk 1400/99.3), KLNC-FM (105.3 The Bone), K233AN (Red 94.5) — all licensed to Lincoln — and KFGE-FM (Froggy 98), licensed to Milford. Connoisseur will assume operations and staff of the Lincoln cluster upon closing.

Connoisseur Media said the acquisition strengthens its targeted-market strategy following recent portfolio adjustments, including its September purchase of Alpha Media. CEO Jeff Warshaw said adding the Lincoln stations and their teams will enhance the company’s ability to serve listeners and local advertisers. NRG Media CEO Mary Quass noted the Lincoln properties’ long role in her company’s history and expressed confidence in Connoisseur’s commitment to local service and programming.

The companies did not disclose financial terms. The deal remains contingent on customary regulatory review by the FCC and other closing conditions, with a closing timeline anticipated this summer.
