Twin Cities Radio: Mary Lucia's Stalker Back In Jail

Patrick Kelly
The man accused of relentlessly stalking a high-profile Twin Cities radio personality is back in jail after violating conditions of his release, according to KARE-TV11.

A spokesman for the Hennepin County Attorney's Office confirms that Patrick Kelly is in custody, but could not give specifics on the violation. It could involve contact with KMOJ 89.3 FM The Current host Mary Lucia or use of chemicals, among other things.

He appeared in jail Wednesday and was ordered held on $100,000 bond.
Kelly is charged with felony stalking for repeatedly contacting Lucia against her wishes.

Prosecutors allege that Kelly began sending Lucia things at work in February of 2014, and say his stalking behavior escalated from there. Lucia took out an order of protection against Kelly in July of 2014, but investigators chronicled at least five violations of that order between August and October of 2014.

Lucia took a leave of absence from The Current, saying the stress that the stalking had inflicted on her life made it impossible to do her job. Lucia told authorities she felt terrorized by the defendant's escalating behavior, and said the repeated conduct has triggered intense stress, weight loss and has made it hard to concentrate.
