Chattanooga Radio: 'The Legend' Extends iHM's US101 Brand

Believing that there just aren’t enough minutes in an hour to play all of the country music out there, WUSY 100.7 FM is adding another option for Chattanooga listeners.

iHeartMedia has flipped its "96.1 The Beat: to a '90s-based Country format, via WUSY 100.7 FM HD-2.

US101 The Legend 96.1 W241AM T-FM. It will feature country hits form the ’80s. ’90s and 2000s, according to iHeart Media (formerly Clear Channel) regional market manager Jared Stehney.

“Now country fans can get what they want, when they want it,” Stehney said.

“If you want today’s country, listen to US101 at 100.7. If you want the classics, now you can listen to US101 The Legend at 96.1.”

US101 is the city’s highest rated radio station.

“US101 has a 30-plus year heritage playing Chattanooga’s Country,” said on-air personality Dex.

“There’s just not enough airtime on one radio station to play all the Country that made Chattanooga great, so we made two. US101 The Legend will play '80s, '90s, and early 2000’s country that has gotten lost and forgotten by country radio."
