Raleigh Radio: 99.9 The Fan Extends Hockey Rights Deal

Capitol Broadcasting Company and Hurricanes Holdings have announced a multi-year extension of their partnership to broadcast Carolina Hurricanes games on radio and audio platforms across the Carolinas.

All preseason, regular-season and postseason games will air live on the team’s flagship station, 99.9 The Fan (WCMC-FM), with Mike Maniscalco and Tripp Tracy on the call. The station will also produce the pregame show “Storm Watch” and the postgame show “Aftermath.”

CBC will continue the after-every-game podcast “Canes Corner,” hosted by Adam Gold, and will carry exclusive interviews and daily Hurricanes content on “The Adam Gold Show,” “The Drive with Tim Donnelly” and “Next Up with Paul Ihander,” as well as on the station’s social media channels.

“We’re proud to continue our partnership with 99.9 The Fan so our fans can continue to hear Mike and Tripp call our games on the radio,” Carolina Hurricanes Vice President of Communications Mike Sundheim said. “From local talk shows to podcasts and pre- and post-game coverage, 99.9 The Fan remains a trusted outlet for Hurricanes fans looking to hear news, analysis and discussion beyond the games.”

“For nearly two decades, 99.9 The Fan has been proud to be part of the Hurricanes story, and there couldn’t be a more exciting time to extend our partnership,” said Brian Grube, VP/GM of CBC Audio + Digital. “Watching the Canes bring the Stanley Cup back to North Carolina was an unforgettable moment for our entire community. We’re tremendously appreciative of our relationship with the Hurricanes and honored to continue serving this incredibly passionate fanbase.”
