The Chicago Blackhawks and WGN Radio have agreed to a multi-year extension of their radio rights deal, keeping live game broadcasts on the station that has been the team’s flagship since 2008-09.
Steve Konroyd will become the full-time radio analyst alongside play-by-play voice John Wiedeman, succeeding the late Troy Murray. Charlie Roumeliotis will continue to host pregame, intermission, and postgame shows.
WGN will air preseason games on Sept. 21, 24, and 26 and all 84 regular-season games this season.

Konroyd filled in as WGN’s color analyst for parts of last season. He previously was a Blackhawks TV studio and part-time color analyst from 2005 to 2021 and has worked for NHL Network, Notre Dame hockey, the Phoenix Coyotes, San Jose Sharks, and Columbus Blue Jackets. A former NHL defenseman, he played four of his 15 seasons with Chicago from 1988 to 1992.Wiedeman enters his 20th season as the Blackhawks’ radio voice.
