Cumulus Media announces that Cumulus Kansas City station 101 The Fox/KCFX-FM hosted a successful community blood drive on Tuesday, August 11th, in partnership with Community Blood Center and Kansas City’s newest Live Nation venue, Morton Amphitheater.
The first-ever “Rock & Roll Up Your Sleeves Blood Drive” was held from 10am-7pm in the exclusive Vinyl Room presented by Arrest Bank at Morton Amphitheater, 6150 Music Blvd, Kansas City, MO. With the support of the community, 124 donors turned out to donate 114 units of blood.
All listeners that stopped by to donate blood received a limited edition 101 The Fox Rock & Roll Up Your Sleeves Blood Drive t-shirt and were automatically entered to win tickets to upcoming concerts at Morton Amphitheater.
Chris Major, Account Manager at Community Blood Center, said: “Today we collected 114 units of blood which will save up to 342 lives. That's a BIG deal!”
Jim Fox, Operations Manager, Cumulus Kansas City, added: “The listeners of 101 The Fox never cease to amaze me. They heard our message of need and activated in force - some taking the day off of work to give to their community.”
