Disney has signed a multiyear global streaming deal to bring Formula E races exclusively to Disney+ and ESPN+ in the United States and to Disney+ in most international markets, starting with the 2026-27 season in December.
The agreement covers live coverage of all Formula E race weekends—including practice, qualifying, races, previews, reviews, and highlights—across 144 territories. In the U.S., events will stream on both Disney+ and ESPN+ (part of ESPN’s streaming offerings); internationally, they will primarily appear on Disney+. The deal complements Formula E’s existing free-to-air and linear broadcast partnerships rather than replacing them. The partnership launches as Formula E enters its Gen4 era, featuring the championship’s most advanced and powerful electric cars to date.
Gen4 vehicles deliver about 600 kW (more than 815 horsepower) and accelerate from 0-60 mph in roughly 1.8 seconds—around 30% faster than a Formula 1 car. The 2026-27 season includes 21 rounds across 13 events in cities such as Jeddah (season opener on December 18), Austin, Miami, Monaco, Mexico City, and Tokyo (finale on July 25, 2027).
Formula E CEO Jeff Dodds called the deal a “landmark moment,” saying Disney’s global reach and storytelling will introduce the all-electric series to millions of new fans while bringing them closer to the drama and innovation of the sport. Disney executives highlighted Formula E’s mix of competition, technology, and sustainability as a strong fit for the company’s expanding live sports portfolio, which already includes select LaLiga matches, NBA games in certain markets, UEFA Women’s Champions League, and upcoming FIFA World Cup coverage.
Financial terms were not disclosed. The current Formula E season concludes this weekend in London.
