LeBron James and the Philadelphia 76ers will appear on national television a league-maximum 34 times during the 2026-27 NBA season, according to Front Office Sports.
The allotment spans Disney’s ABC/ESPN, NBCUniversal’s NBC Sports/Peacock and Amazon’s Prime Video—the highest number any team will receive.
The Sixers’ new starting five of James, Tyrese Maxey, VJ Edgecombe, Jaylen Brown and Joel Embiid is expected to draw major national audiences in matchups against the reigning champion New York Knicks, Brown’s former team the Boston Celtics, the Giannis Antetokounmpo-led Miami Heat, James’ original franchise the Cleveland Cavaliers, his most recent club the Los Angeles Lakers, and Stephen Curry’s Golden State Warriors—a team James had also considered.
NBA Commissioner Adam Silver had delayed finalizing the schedule until James announced his destination. “I would like him to make his announcement already, so we can finish the schedule, because, as you might imagine, the teams are calling us, the networks are calling us, and everybody wants to lock in the schedule,” Silver said before the decision. “But it will influence how we set the schedule, how we set opening week, Christmas Day, etc. So I need him to make a decision.”
