SportsRadio 610 (KILT-AM), an Audacy sports station in Houston, completed its second annual “Reggie and Ron Radiothon,” raising over $24,000 for the Houston Food Bank. Serving Houston and Southeast Texas since 1982, the Houston Food Bank advocates for food security and nutrition, providing access to nutritious meals for families who need them most.
“What we do is powerful, and our listeners jumped at the chance to rally around our station and city, which is just further proof of the impact we make for our fellow Houstonians,” said Parker Hillis, Brand Manager, SportsRadio 610. “I’m grateful we have a team here at Audacy Houston who are committed to campaigns like this year-round.”
The “Reggie and Ron Radiothon,” hosted by “In the Loop” host Reggie Adetula and “The Drive with Stoerner and Hughley” host Ron Hughley, took place on July 3. With the help of the SportsRadio 610 staff, co-host of sister station Mix 96.5 (KHMX-FM) Jessie Watt and other special guests, the $24,000 raised will help provide over 72,000 meals for food-insecure families in the Houston community.
“As more families across Texas are struggling to put food on the table, Houston Food Bank and the neighbors we serve appreciate more than ever the continued support from community partners like Audacy and SportsRadio 610,” says Brian Greene, President and CEO, Houston Food Bank.
“Thanks to the station and its generous listeners, $24,000 was raised during the Reggie & Ron Radiothon, which will provide 72,000 meals to children, families, senior citizens and veterans experiencing food insecurity. Together we are providing hope and food for better lives across Houston Food Bank’s 18-county service area.”
