Howard Stern Moves To Dismiss $2.5M Lawsuit

Howard Stern is seeking to dismiss a $2.5 million lawsuit filed by his former executive assistant, labeling the case a “shakedown” and a “transparent sham.”

The radio host and his wife, Beth Stern, are accused in the suit of fostering a hostile work environment, applying workplace pressure, and abruptly terminating the employee despite earlier promises of a raise and bonus. The former assistant, who started as an office manager in 2022 before becoming Stern’s executive assistant, is also asking the court to invalidate non-disclosure and confidentiality agreements so she can publicly defend her reputation.

In court filings, Stern, 72, strongly pushed back against the claims. His attorney, Ilene Farkas, said the couple is simply enforcing “non-disclosure agreements signed by employees who enter their home and their private life.”

Stern’s legal team insists the former employee knowingly acknowledged the agreements, citing records including emails as proof. They argue she was shown this evidence before filing suit.

The former assistant claims she never properly signed the confidentiality documents and wants them invalidated to respond to accusations made against her and protect her future employment prospects.

The lawsuit has drawn renewed attention to Stern’s workplace practices. Stern has said he has no intention of turning the dispute into a public spectacle.
